Our Pastors

Gregory Nelson, Senior Pastor

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Pastor Nelson has been preaching the gospel since the age of 14.  Early in life, Pastor Nelson was taught to love the Lord and that love affair continues today.  In his personal and professional life, Pastor Nelson lives by the mantra, “take care of God’s business and he will take care of yours.”

Pastor Nelson is married to the former, Carla Noel of Brooklyn New York and they are the proud parents of their son, Evan Gregory and daughter Noelle Victoria Nelson. Pastor Nelson credits all that he has and has attained to the Lord’s leading in his life and ministry, which he says, “is incontrovertible proof that those who are faithful in taking care of the Lord’s business will never fail to have him take care of theirs.”

Amanda Hawley, Assistant Pastor

Pastor Amanda N. Hawley has a passion for genuine worship, spiritual and personal growth, and healthy relationships.  She recently graduated from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University with a Master of Divinity degree.  While attending Andrews she served as the Administrative Pastor for New Life Fellowship; a worship fellowship sponsored by Campus Ministries.  She also worked with other campus ministries and departments.

Pastor Hawley is a product of Christian education; attending Adventist elementary and junior high schools.  She is also a proud graduate of Oakwood University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.  Before accepting God’s call to pastoral ministry, Pastor Hawley was pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology at Argosy University in Chicago, IL.  This training in psychology greatly compliments her ministry training.  Her goal is to combine her knowledge of mental and behavioral health with that of the Bible and theology to promote spiritual, personal and relational wholeness.

Pastor Hawley is the daughter of Chaplain Leonard Hawley and Helen Hawley, who have been married for 33 years. Her father has been a Corrections Chaplain for the State of Ohio for 27 years.  Her mother is a retired nurse and an active Adventurer Director.  Her younger sister, Tirzah Hawley, is a second year graduate student at the Johns Hopkins School of Music, Peabody Institute in Baltimore, MD.  She is obtaining a Master of Music degree.

In her free time Pastor Hawley enjoys sewing, crafting, baking, singing, cooking…pretty much any form of artistic expression.  She loves to laugh and spend time with family and friends. It is her desire to serve the Lord with all her heart, mind, soul and strength.
